I give Honor to Allah, and to His Holy and Divine Prophet, Noble Drew Ali, Reincarnated, and all the great works he brought to you and I.

It is with great pleasure, that I post a few words to this truly wonderful website! Please allow me to say that I am grateful for this opportunity.

My Brothers and Sisters, with all that we have been given by our Holy Prophet, to help us to UNITE with one another, and RE-BUILD ourselves as a NATION, we have truly, truly, done a great disservice to ourselves, and also dishonor to Allah and His Prophet, that we have not PROPERLY used what we have been given to first uplift ourselves, and then, DILLIGENTLY work to CONTINUE to HELP IN THE GREAT PROGRAM OF UPLIFTING FALLEN HUMANITY!!!

Much more I can say about this, and I truly welcome dialogue on this subject, and others relevant to our current National status as Moorish Americans. There continues to be NO NATIONAL UNITY AMONG MOORISH AMERICANS!!! and therefore, NO National Economic Prosperity, NO National Educational System/Opportunities for our Youth, NO Common RECOGNITION OF ONE GRAND-MAJOR Temple!!! etc.

Need I say More?

I trust to speak more on other subjects relevant to our current Moorish American experience, but, NOTHING is more needed now among our people than GREATER UNITY!!!

Finally, I would like to help clear up some confusion as to what the Moorish American "New Year" is, or would be, considering that our National Moorish Xmas (Christmas) is on January 8th. Some of our people commonly think that January 15th would be considered our "New Year".

I have found nothing brought or said by our Prophet that identifies this particular date, or any significance it may hold, (other than being the birthday of Bro. Mohammed Ali El).

However, with regard to October 17th, Prophet Noble Drew Ali said that, "Our Nationality in this government began with the Parade". The Prophet was talking about the Parade that he led on October 17th, 1928, during the First National Convention of the Moorish Science Temple of America.

With his first step, the Prophet said, "This day marks your beginning". This is also commonly known as the beginning of the Moorish Calendar! Thus, it would be October 17th, (a day that MOST Moorish Americans do NOT observe nor celebrate) that would be our true NEW YEAR observance!

Peace family. I am a new found Moor from Texas. I stumbled upon the reality of we as Moors late last year. Since then I have familiarized myself with as much information and knowledge as I come across and desire to know more. The point I'm at now is in declaring my nationality and national name, formally. Unfortunately, I have not the knowledge of how to do that exactly, or to whom that is declared to. Where I am, there is no Moorish Science Temple. I still have questions and would be honored to have a true guide in this process. I had no knowledge of the Prophet growing up, but am humbled by the great work he did for so many, many of whom shunned his message. I see the time we are in and want to be prepared as well.

I am a brother who is from Philly, recently graduated from Columbia Law School and now just kicking back a year. Modeling helped me get through college. I am not a model head; I used it to get my degree. Getting ready to spend about 12 months In Africa, and then going to take the PASBAR. Wish me the best. Was put through the City Family Court and their shelter system. My Mother just dropped me off and never came back. I was angry as a child always fighting, bitter, and rebellious. I was in over 40 different homes in my 11 years in the System. I graduated out of High School and turned 18 (I was really just 16.) when I left the shelter home for boys, they just gave me $800 dollars and I was on my way to the streets of Philadelphia. I got a small apartment I couldn't afford and after 4 months I was basically on the streets. Was walking in north Philly, wondering where I would sleep; I slept on the park bench at Hunting Park. I was there with the drug dealers and the pimps and prostitutes. I was so close to selling drugs myself, but I just couldn’t do it! One day I tried to steal this car from this guy, while he went inside to get something from the store. I got in the car and the next thing I feel this huge arm on my shoulders. That man was Brother Orlando and he smacked the heck out of me, I was seeing stars, he was screaming at me, I thought he was gonna beat my butt all up north 5th street. But he didn't, he took the car and rode off. Then like several hours later he is walking down the street with his girl and I said I was sorry and that I was just hungry. That brother took me into the restaurant and bought me a huge meal gave me $20 and said call him if I needed help. I called him at 4am and he let me sleep on his couch. Then he went and cosigned for me to get a little studio and he paid the rent, all he asked was that I go to school, and I did, and he has been there for me now for 10 years. This brother has been there for me like I was his son, his blood. To those who have never had that stigma of ever not being wanted, this was a new experience for me. That some one would care and love me, that was all new to me. I remembered when I had the flu and his fiancé` came and took care of me, made me stay in bed, made sure I took my medicine, and gave me a flu shot. Oh She is Dr. Maria Rodriguez and she don’t take no mess. Then Brother Orlando came and we watched college basketball all day from Noon till Midnight (March Madness) That's when I knew I was loved for real. I still cry and shake my head sometimes when I know that he gave me a family. He is the only person in my entire life that has never left me or let me down. When I took my SAT's he got me a tutor and prepared me. Brother Orlando taught me about Inner Love and he told me there was GOD and that his name was Allah. He would take me to the Temple on 5th street, where I got my nationality card and became a Moslem. It was a very small building, but the brothers there made it feel like you were in a huge hall with the wisdom and teachings. Oh, how I remember those days, and Brother J. Latimore-El a great brother as well. Brother Orlando taught me about how to speak to women. He taught me what a condom was. He taught me that Asiatic Women are Queens. He showed me how to study, how to pray. He taught me that the best way to get even with people was to LIVE WELL. He Taught me Karate. (When I got my Black Belt I Cried Like a Baby.) When I got Into Columbia I ran to him like I was a 4 year old. When I Graduated from Columbia, he was there. (Proudest Moment Of My Life) It is so true that only a man can make a man and raise a man. When I have my kids I will know how to raise my S.E.E.D, because I had a man, a real strong BROTHER make me a man. Brother O. Rosado-Bey I love you and Maria Rodriguez, you both are the most important people in my life. If I could have ever picked a DAD you are the only one I would have picked. Now I am just going to do some volunteer work in Africa, Darfur, Senegal, Libya and South America. I am going to work with the Peace Corps. Going to teach there for about a year and then come back and take the PASB and get on with my law career.

I got release once and did not follow up on my studies. Always using the excuse that I will locate a temple to unite with. Instead I went back to my old ways and went to jail again.
